About Sarah

Sarah Lockman has been riding horses since before she could walk on her own two feet. She is a graduate B Pony Clubber and competed through the Intermediate level in eventing, impressively finishing third at her first CCI*** when she was just 15 years old. In 2004, Sarah shifted her focus, solely training and competing in dressage. She regularly participates in many different clinics and rides with top trainers including Judy Harvey, Bert Rutten, Debbie McDonald, Scott Hassler, and Guenter Seidel.

Sarah has taught many riders and horses from Training level all the way to Grand Prix. In 2016 she had over 15 pairs of horse and rider combinations qualified for CDS/USDF Championships. For many years she had a large amateur client base and the largest sales program in Southern California. But in 2018, Sarah was offered a prestigious lead rider position at Summit Farm in Murrieta, California.

Sarah now trains and competes on high performance dressage horses and pioneers the imported dressage sales program. No longer managing a large business of amateur clients she is able to dedicate her time to her competition mounts exclusively representing Summit Farm. Sarah Lockman married 4* judge, Lee Tubman, in 2021. The two spend their summers in California at Summit Farm and winters in Florida for the AGDF season.

Sarah currently has a string of competition mounts ranging from four to eight years old, including her newest FEI partner, Summit Farm's, First Apple.  First Apple and Sarah broke out the 2019 season with an impressive 78% at the I-1 just a month into their partnership. Sarah then represented Team USA with Apple at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. With a personal best, she and Apple won an individual gold medal as well as a team silver!

At the beginning of 2022, Sarah and First Apple have been short listed for the Dressage World Championships in Hernig, Denmark. After a very consistent season, Sarah was also added to the Dressage Pre-Elite list as well as the USEF Pre-Elite list. The Aim of the Elite Program is to provide support and resources to those athlete/horse combinations that have been proven they are internationally competitive.

Balia, Sarah's other competitive mount that she's had since the mare was 5, is on the USEF Developing Program with Sarah. he Aim of the Kundrun USEF Dressage Development Program is to provide strategic guidance and resources to selected athletes with the perceived ability to make the Podium or contribute to Podium scores.

Sarah aspires to be a part of the United States Equestrian Team in the coming years for the Pan Ams, World Cup, and Olympic Games.
